R Tindall is proud to be an official supplier of Victaulic Heads, Valves & Devices
Great things were happening back then; Neil Armstrong landed on the moon, The Beatles played their last public performance and both the Boeing 747 and R Tindalls Ltd made their debut performance. Much has changed since 1969, The Beatles and the Boeing 747 are no more, but space travel is bigger than ever and so are we.
Starting Out
Supplying tanks and pump rooms is where it started for us. But we soon began to establish ourselves and quickly decided to venture out in the fire fabrication market. Operating out of Chadderton, Oldham in a 4,000 sq. ft facility, notoriety took hold and in 1998 we moved to a second site of 8,000 sq. ft. We were growing exponentially and demand for our service continued to rise. So, we made the move in 2002 to a new 17,000 sq. ft facility in Oldham. More space and additional employees meant we were well equipped to more than match customer demands.
Moving On Up
The company was subject to a management buy–out in 2017, when Joe Yearn acquired full control of the business from his father, Barry. Joe’s influence and innovative nature have changed the business tenfold.
First up was a £2m investment in people and machinery – to be the best you need to have the very best and this certainly applies to our people, our culture and our state-of-the-art technology which includes a powder coating line, robotic welding, grooving and threading facilities.
We are the only UK fire fabrication business to reinvest our profits back into the business to sustain our future growth plans. Our business goals and values are about being the best we can be, for both our customers and our employees. We are a sustainable business with a planned strategy for growth and development – currently turning over £17m, we are planning for controlled growth and aim to double in size within the next 5 years.
