R Tindall has been named Innovative Metal Fabrication Company of the Year at the 2026 CorporateLiveWire Innovation & Excellence Awards, recognising a period of significant investment, innovation and growth across the business.
The award celebrates R Tindall’s £1.8 million investment in three advanced robotics systems that automate grooving, welding, milling and cutting processes for prefabricated fire sprinkler and mechanical pipework packages. The technology incorporates real-time defect detection and correction, helping to increase output, reduce lead times and further enhance manufacturing precision.
Managing Director Joe Yearn welcomed the award, describing it as an important milestone for the business.

The award reflects a wider transformation programme that has seen R Tindall continue to invest in its facilities, people and capabilities. Alongside the robotics programme, the company has expanded its Oldham headquarters to 50,000 sq ft and opened a new distribution centre in Maidenhead, providing next-day service across London, the South East and the Home Counties.
Today, R Tindall employs 115 people, with continued investment in recruitment, training and skills development helping to support the company’s long-term growth ambitions.
Sustainability has also remained a key focus throughout the transformation. Recent milestones include achieving ISO 14001 certification, completing full Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon baseline reporting, securing EcoVadis Bronze accreditation and delivering significant reductions in both energy consumption and waste.
